Beginner 1 Wheel - Tuesday+Thursday Afternoons in July/August [TWO SPOTS LEFT]

$420.00

This is a twice-weekly course that lasts for 5 weeks held at The Mud Room SE. Perfect for true beginners! In this class you will learn the basics of wedging, throwing cylinders and bowls, attaching handles, and glazing. You will leave class with some finished and functional wares!

Class is every Tuesday and Thursday from 1-3:30 PM at The Mud Room SE: 2011 SE 10th Ave.

Dates: July 8th-August 7th

Before signing up, we encourage you to make sure that you can make it to every class. We have found that learning pottery with a teacher present yields the best student outcomes. More good habits and fewer bad ones. Our class model has twice-weekly sessions and no open studio—we emphasize hands-on instruction to help you really learn. Our teachers are there for you.

This course will be taught by Adria Standeven.

A little about Adria:

Adria has been a member of the community at The Mud Room since 2021. She loves the mindful messiness of working with clay as a means to connect and expand artistic expression. Adria is an observant, enthusiastic teacher who strives to create a warm, calm and welcoming environment. She values teaching why something works and adapts to her students’ learning styles to offer varying communication and instruction. Adria is delighted to work alongside new ceramicists and introduce them to The Mud Room community!

Cost: $395 + $25 for your first bag of clay. If you need to buy extra clay, it is between $13 and $25 per bag. Firing is at no extra cost to students.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us at least two weeks before the class start date. After this time, we cannot offer refunds or reschedule your spot for any reason, including illness. Please note that there is a $15 processing fee for all refunds.

If you have to miss a class due to illness, we are unable to offer refunds or credits. If your teacher is unable to attend class, we will do our best to arrange for a substitute. If a substitute teacher is not available, we will reschedule the class for a later date.

If you ever need to miss a class date due to a religious holiday, just communicate with us directly and we can create a plan for ensuring you get brought up to speed!

Please note: We will send you an email two weeks before your class start date. If you don’t see this email in your inbox, please check your spam folder, or add us as a contact (info@themudroompdx.com).
